The eCopy suite of products allow you to easily transfer paper documents to electronic format no matter what what computer system you are running.
The phrase 'audit trail' has become a buzz phrase in today's business world with the benefits of the aforementioned expression being critical to
organisations keeping track of information and mission critical data.
eCopy addresses this fundamental business requirement and takes the concept of push scanning to the next plateau. Both'out-of-the-box' and eCopy push
scanning methodologies send paper to an electronic location such as a Windows file share or an email address. The difference between the two though
is that documents sent using the conventional MFD method will come from the MFD itself - looking into the origin of the document you will see that the
document came from a certain hostname on your network and the associated IP address and underlying MAC address. With eCopy though all documents come
from, or are authored by the user who initiated the scan allowing you to know from the outset who created that document or who sent that email or who
mported data into your document management system.
How does it do this?
eCopy authenticates to your Active Directory schema in the same way that any other Windows client does. For a user to initiate a push scan process
then they must authenticate to your systems. If they fail to provide valid login credentials for your systems then no scan process will commence.
Another added bonus of deploying the eCopy suite is that all scanned documents will undergo full and complete OCR - optical character recognition as
opposed to being a flat bitmap image. With this in mind you can easily search new documents for keywords and phrases and deploy additional data extraction
into other sotftware utilities such as your CRM, your document management system or your accounting system. Or, can go one setp further and deploy eCopy
with the vast array of eCopy connectors that are available to you. An eCopy connector allows you to push your documents into your off-the shelf of
bespoke systems and deploy data extraction methods from within eCopy.
eCopy will work with both Canon and Ricoh photocopiers when deployed when deployed with the ShareScan® ScanStation or as part of an embedded solution.
